Gee, I dunno, Pink licking her backup singer/dancer's face on live TV was fairly non-pretty and freaked out the straight guys I know.

The Queer Eye guys were into it, as far as I could tell.

Maybe you weren't impressed with it because they're eye candy? It was done to shock, not to show how kool lesbokissing is. The opening sequence to the VMAs has historically been the place to introduce the office water-cooler topic of the following week.

Oh, and no lesbian/gay couple or straight couple owes me any PDA. I'd rather not see any gratuitous suckface on television by anyone. (then again, I don't watch TV.)

Right, which is why I'm wondering why people are so thrilled about it. I just don't see why it's any big deal. It's not exactly some big step in gay rights, it's just a couple of chicks kissing to impress an audience. *twirls finger in the air*

An authentic, real kiss between people who have real affection for each other, now that would be newsworthy. But just doing it for headlines? Not impressed.

It isn't any big deal, and it wasn't done to advance anything other than Madonna's album sales. MTV should re-edit the awards show to put the number in amongst the FittyCent assnuggets that the rest of the show was filled with so they can get people to watch it again.

Why would two people kissing be newsworthy? Maybe it's my Southun Baptist upbringing, but kissing in public so people can see the kissing is unnecessary- het or gay.

Kissing in public should simply happen when the people doing the kissing want it to, whether there are cameras around or not, so long as it's not a massive porno snog.

At any rate, my complaint is with people who think that what those girls did is any big advance in our culture. The kiss at the Tonys, however, was cool because it was real, inspired by real emotion between the people involved.

But plenty of people enjoy being with older people. Obviously, if someone's still a teenager or something, yeah, that's creepy, but once you're over 20 or so, age is just a number.
