Had another appointment with the ladybits doc this morning. They did another ZOMFG test, since the last one didn't get enough of a sample. Even doped up on vicodin, it still hurt like hell, but this doc was quicker than the last one, so it was thankfully over fast.

Much better than that, however, is that we now have a plan! The biopsy was, of course, to rule out endometrial cancer (and I'll know about that Mondayish), but the doc also said she wasn't sure there wasn't a polyp or something else growing in there. So she suggested we do a hysteroscopy. While they're in there, however, if everything looks basically as it should, they're going to do an ablation. Praise FSM and bless his noodly appendage! I may finally be DONE with these fucking periods from hell!

They're about 3-4 weeks out on their surgery schedule, so it'll be a bit before this can get done. In the meantime, the industrial-strength hormones do seem to be working, so they're going to keep me on that until about a week before the surgery. Then I do an ultrasound so they can decide what kind of procedure to do. Recovery time should be fairly short, so barring any complications, I should be well healed by the time our trip comes around. Hot damn!

Oh, also, she said the rest of my abdominal ultrasound came out fine. So basically, there are just two problems I've had in the last ~week--the kidney infection and this--and both are getting dealt with. In a few weeks, I should feel better than I have in ages.

hooray for progress made and potentially not having to rip it all out. Yes, yes, I know that might feel like the simple answer, but it's got longer term consequences....

Yeah, I wanted to avoid the ripping-out thing because of the major-surgery/general anesthesia issue. Plus the potential of nerve damage and such. There are still some risks with this thing, but far fewer.

Defo means no getting pregnant, but I've resigned myself to that already, and I'd much rather just get my life back and stop the constant pain.

I'm in such a good mood, now. Still hurty, but mentally in a much better space, knowing this is finally getting dealt with.

*hug* I'm glad that you're already in a better place mentally. Friend of mine went through something similar half a year ago and it was definitely really rough on her. Having had a involuntary c-section, I can certainly understand not wanting to go in for major abdominal surgery if you can avoid it. It really is no fun at all in terms of recovery. I think I'm finally just now starting to feel like I'm coming close to normal again after 3 years. Mind you, if my doctor had done proper follow up and figured out that I had a spinal misalignment post surgery causing muscle problems, it probably wouldn't have taken me 3 years to come back from it. Why on earth they don't refer women for better after care and supportive PT post c-section is completely beyond me.
