Locals: Last shameless plea for help

Yeah, I know asking for help on a holiday weekend is nuts, but on the off chance anyone doesn't already have plans, we could use a extra body or two.

The carpet people will be coming on Tuesday to do the teardown, so I need to get the last bits of stuff out of the house if at all possible. K's coming over to abscond with some of the furniture, but we'll still have some stuff left over that at least needs to get out to the garage, where it can be picked up by charity trucks and trash haulers.

So if you're at all capable of helping tote some boxes and large items downstairs, we'd greatly appreciate the extra assistance. We'll be in the house every day this weekend, so feel free to come by whenever.

Almost everything we're keeping has either been toted to the villa or spirited away in the pod, so just about anything you see is up for grabs if you want it.

Of the big stuff, K's got dibs on the desk sets, but of the list here, we'll still have the TV cart, the tall corner desk, the two brown dressers, the two short black bookcases, the two twin box springs and the tall cabinet.

Additionally, we'll also have a small rolling computer cart, a large folding table, a black-and-gold aluminum baker's rack, a 4.5' x 18" white cabinet, a nearly new locking DVD/CD cabinet and a recumbent exercise bike. Plus a bunch of miscellaneous stuff, including a ton of clothes. There are also a few baby items left over from when we had a little one in the house for a while.

If you want any of this stuff, just let me know in advance so I can make sure it doesn't go away before you come get it.

(Also: pixxelpuss, the barstools are ready any time you can pick them up.)

Would one of the short bookcases be good for kids' books? A doesn't have a proper bookshelf in his room.

Also wondering: do the shelves in the DVD cabinet come out? We need a locking cabinet for medicines now that A is getting more crafty and dexterous.

Both of the bookcases would need to be shored up a little to be kid-safe (the back's coming off, so they're a bit wobbly), but they'd probably be fine for light duty. (Pic here.)

And the DVD cabinet does have adjustable shelves. It's this model. It's basically new. We're only giving it up because we're going to do a full wall system thing in the media room of the new house.

Hey you! Did you decide whether you wanted anything? The charity and trash hauling trucks will be here tomorrow morning, and I want to make sure they don't abscond with anything you still want. :)

oh, oops. we are in hawaii at last. I figured (a) everything was gone and (b) we had too much trip prep and vacation-prep work insanity to do in the last week for me to be compos mentis about anything. thanks so much though, you rock!

Hey! Hope you're enjoying Hawaii. Wish I could be there! What island are you on, or are you hopping?

The shelves are gone, now, but the DVD cabinet is still around. I figured I could get a bit of money out of it on Craigslist if you didn't want it. It'll be around for a while longer at least.
