The free (well, relatively cheap) entertainment value alone has got to be worth all the nights you get no sleep because the kid is puking on every available surface.
(Interestingly, I feel the same way about my cats. Yes, they stink up the place, barf for seemingly no reason at all and occasionally draw blood, but they're just so. damned. funny. that I can't help but adore them.)
