So, we just switched over from Comcast to Verizon cable, and in the process, had to reset all of our scheduled DVR recordings.

We came up with something like 20 shows, total, including a dozen or so that we both watch regularly that are airing this season.*

Um. Holy crap.

In my defense, I'll say this: TV has been MUCH better than movies in the last couple of years, and at least most of what we're watching is fairly high quality. We also tend to multi-task when we watch: Cooking/eating dinner, talking, going through mail, etc. Also, we tend to run at least a small buffer on each recorded show so we can skip through commercials, so the actual number of hours we spend watching is probably somewhat less than the hour-per-show calculation.

But, yeah... Sigh...

*Off the top of my head:
Lost
BSG
House
CSI
Numb3rs
Leverage
Chuck
Heroes
Fringe
11th Hour
Sanctuary
Hell's Kitchen
Mythbusters

M Only
NCIS
Knight Rider
Bones

DVDs
BBC's Robin Hood (currently on season 2)

Mid-Season:
Eureka

We also randomly watch episodes of Good Eats, House Hunters, Iron Chef America and a few other Food Network/HGTV things.

There is a tv in my flat but I don't use it. I watch a movie on my computer every couple of weeks, and I watch movies (and, currently, Buffy) at the daniel's place on his tv of shininess and win. We are currently managing sixish episodes a week, which is about five hours.

I used to watch a lot more, before kids. Once they got big enough to attempt to stay up and watch, I decided the hassle was no longer worth it. (I didn't want LOST scaring the bejaysus out of them.) Last year, I somehow managed to keep up with five or six shows, all online. I don't know where I found the time, really. This year, the only show I'm watching in real-time is House, even The Office generally gets a next-day watch online. I gave up on Chuck and Heroes and Pushing Daisies (though I hope to eventually catch up with DVDs or whatever), and I haven't even managed to finish the last two eps of Mad Men. I have a couple of summer shows, too.

I probably watch more than I answered... but a lot of it is just HGTV running in the background while I'm doing other things. Not sure it counts if I'm not actually *watching*.

I'm including movies that I watch at home, because sitting consuming media is sitting consuming media in my opinion. But a lot of TV these days, yeah.

I just watch BSG, so that's 0.75 (no commercials, yay!), plus an hour or two here and there from Netflix rentals/streams. But when I had the TV hooked up, it was probably between 10 and 20 hours a week, thanks to all the sports and ESPN I was absorbing.

Ohgod, I don't want to think about it.
The current Daily Show and a Simpsons rerun every day. American Idol (don't tell!). And lots of baseball, in season. Movies on the weekend. Once in a while we'll get into a DVD series, but not often. Lots of shows sound pretty good, but sleep is our current priority.

Way less TV starting soon. I'm determined to limit baby screen time.
