In the eye of the beholder
The countdown to Various Big Things in my life has me all wound up these days. And I can't just take off for somewhere peaceful right now.
So your task, my dear flisties, if you have a moment to brighten my day:
Show me something beautiful.
Natural. Human-created. Your dog. Your kid. A sunset. An amazing piece of architecture... Whatever, so long as it's not the boring, commercialized version of human beauty with which we are all bombarded in every ad every day.
Whatever YOU think is beautiful is what I want to see. I want to see beauty through your eyes.
Photos, video, music, poetry, art, whatever trips your triggers.

Hem - Half Acre. (The vid's just okay, but hey, youtube is easy for finding music.)
One of my favorite pieces--it's so incredibly beautiful and soothing:
Yo-Yo Ma, Prelude to Cello Suite #1 in G Major
More Bach-- Sheep May Safely Graze, and Sleepers, Wake
This piece is so lovely:
Gabriel's Oboe
Beautiful music, lovely choreography, and I think the best performance she had of this program: Michelle Kwan - East of Eden, '98 World Pros. (Too bad you can't shut the announcer up.)
I love this piece:
Chairman's Waltz, choreographed by Wade Robson
Calling You - choreographed by Mia Michaels
And I know that *everyone* has seen this, but I just love it--I do think there's incredible beauty in it--so many people, from so many places, simply enjoying each other, and enjoying something so simple--apart, yet together.
Where the hell is Matt? (2008)
Feel better! :-)
