There's so much ridiculous shit going on in the world, but there are some great things, too, like that lovely smooch at the Tonys, and the same-sex marriage in Ontario thing, and Richard Chamberlain coming out. and this. There was also an aritcle recently in Teen People (of all places) about transgender teens. Woot!
I really feel like the world is starting to change. We have a long way to go, but we're rapidly moving in the right direction. I really feel like maybe my children (should I ever get around to having any) might grow up in a world where homophobia is considered just as nasty as racism. It will still exist, I'm sure, but I think the majority is starting to come around, and that's just wonderful.
Edit: Found a great article about all this.

And I have some great news about same-sex marriages here in my home country, too. The prothestantic church in sweden may loose their right to wed people if they refuse to wed gay couples.
The governemnt is suggesting that, from now on, if the church refuses, all couples should be wed by either a minister (from the government) or a judge.
