Considering that I went to an alternative school, this ought to be strange.

1. Who was your best friend?
My childhood best friend K joined my school about a year after I started there.

2. What sports did you play?
I did some swimming when I was 14, but that was before high school. My school had no sports.

3. What kind of car did you drive?
Originally, a badass green 1970 Plymouth Duster that I named "Reptilicus." Then I switched to a brown 1977 Colt.

4. It's Friday night, where were you?
Fridays? Not sure. Working, maybe? Saturdays, however, beginning around Feb. 1987, were spent hanging out with the RHPS crowd.

5. Were you a party animal?
Initially, no. Once I joined the RHPS gang, oh hell, yes.

6. Were you considered a flirt?
I was considered a slut. And, well, I was.

7. Were you in band, orchestra, or choir?
I was in the choir at my boyfriend's school. I was sort of a leech at his school, since mine had next to no activities. I was involved with his drama department and two years of choir and worked on the lit mag. I think most of the teachers there probably thought I was a real student, but nope.

8. Were you a nerd?
Oh my, yes. Still am. I was a strange combination of geek and goth (although we called it punk then.)

9. Did you get suspended/expelled?
Quite the opposite. The faculty loved me.

10. Can you sing the fight song?
We didn't have one. Although I can still sing "Home Means Nevada."
"If you follow the old Kit Carson trail, until desert meets the hills..."

11. Who was your favorite teacher?
I only really had one, for most of it, and yes, I liked her a lot. I should go see if I can track her down.

13. School mascot?
Warriors--of the Paiute, Washoe and Shoshone variety.

14. Did you go to Prom?
Junior and senior at the boyfriend's school.

15. If you could go back and do it over, would you?
There were good parts, but also some really, really bad parts. So, no.

16. What do you remember most about graduation?
Singing a solo. Getting my scholarships.

17. Where were you on senior skip day?
Didn't have one.

18. Did you have a job your senior year?
Yes. Although I didn't really have a senior year, since I graduated as a junior.

19. Where did you go most often for lunch?
Since we only had three-hour days, I just went home.

20. Have you gained weight since then?
Considering I was bulimic and actually underweight for the majority of my sophomore year? Yes, although the vast majority of that was in my early 20s, when I was trying to take full-time classes and work two jobs and manage poverty, a failing marriage and improperly treated depression all at the same time (yes, the early 90s really sucked for me.) In the ~8 years since I finally started managing my illness better, I've only put on about 15 lbs. Not bad, especially considering the school stress and such.

21. What did you do after graduation?
Started at UNR that fall. I actually had finished all my credits in February that year, so I spent the next several months working and writing my 'zine (which I really ought to scan in sometime--they were funny as hell.)

22. When did you graduate?
1988, nine days after I turned 17.

23. Who was your Senior prom Homecoming date?
J, the guy I'd eventually marry.

24. Are you going to your 10 year reunion?
We didn't have one in 98. I doubt we'll have a 20th. I wouldn't go, anyway. I didn't know enough people.

25. Who was your homeroom teacher?
The aforementioned one.

26. Who will repost this after you?
No clue.

Oooh, I wouldn't touch this meme with a 10-foot pole! I still get shivers if I happen to be in the Bay Area and pass by Berkeley High, and it's over 30 years in my past now....
