I recognize that some of this is cultural, rooted in religion and lack of education, but it's still horrifying. I can't believe people would actually suggest that someone "beat the gay" out of the kid.

Those comments are among the most disgusting things I've read in recent memory. I hope the kid who made the video never reads them, gay or not. Human beings can be so disappointing.

Welcome to YouTube, I'm afraid - YouTube comments seem to be chronically ignorant like this. It's a nightmare. I had seen this a little earlier, and there's a whole other cultural element to this as well that I'm unhappily familiar with, but it's definitely there, in statements like "We can't let women raise our Black men," etc, etc. It really is depressing.
