She's gone

M just called to tell me she didn't make it through the night. Somehow, I knew. I haven't felt well all week. I had a dr. appointment Monday, but I came back home that afternoon for a while before coming here. I spent about an hour with her sitting next to me. I said goodbye and told her I loved her. I knew I wasn't going to see her again.

I knew I'd be losing her soon. I just hoped she'd hang on until I was home again. But at least I got to spend most of the last few weeks at home with her.

I have to skip my classes today. There's just no way I could manage right now. At least I have a long weekend to recover. I'm going to try to make the drive back to the house, though it may be slow.

I'm terribly sorry to hear about the kitty. The loss of a fur child is terribly acute, but I will bet that she died peacefully and Mike was there.

Anyone who tells you it was just a cat is dead wrong.

Drive slow. Pay attention while driving. Fall apart when you get home.
