My point, fwiw, is aimed at people who do this without any measure of discretion whatsoever. Most of them do it to make a point, and that's what I find annoying.

I've seen plenty of nursing mothers who have had no problem being discreet. Also, many who make a point of scheduling when they'll be in public around known feeding times. I don't really see the point of making a trip to the mall half an hour before one knows Junior will be hungry.

It's not the act of feeding that's the issue, it's being silly and thinking that a flash of bare boob won't attract attention, or being even sillier and doing it knowing that it will attract attention, hoping people will think "my, what a wonderful human being--she can feed a kid all on her own!"

That's what annoys me about this campaign. It has nothing to do with wanting to quietly feed one's kid, and everything to do with shoving a leaking boob in people's faces because they think having that is a badge of honor.

My primary problem is the whole "MilkBoob Good, SexBoob bad" element. As I said on [livejournal.com profile] ironymaiden's journal: My tits do not need to be sanctified by the presence of a hungry infant.
