*bangs head*
So, I'm in the Mac lab tonight finishing up my editing project, and there are a few of my classmates there. Talk turns to the Front, and I casually mentioned that I was annoyed at having to explain common knowledge things in my articles (today I got asked to spell out MBA on first reference. Egad.)
I mentioned having to explain how a bill goes through Congress, and one of the people gave me a blank stare and said, "what's a bill?"
O_O
Okay, Yale this is not, but Western's minimum freshman admission GPA is upwards of 3.6. How does any high school student get a GPA like that and NOT know what a bill is?

Although I did have to laugh. I went to a meeting yesterday for the port commission, which is working out a plan to renovate the waterfront and wants the university involved. There were a few guys on the commission who were alumni, and one of them joked about how he knew Western way back when one only needed a 2.5 GPA to get in.
Eep!
