Aahahahahahaa. I've seen amatuer art that looks more lifelike and human that this. I don't get the appeal of this style of makeup/photography, and I've seen sites like this before. Ugh. At least most of these people aren't 4 and made up to look 34.

okay, I take it back. There are some children made up to look like middle-aged women. I don't get it. It looks so unnatural, like their faces were pastede on yay. :(

Photoshopped to the point of rotoscoping, but yeah.

Bleh.

So glad my mother never did this. The Sunday dresses and Cindy Brady pigtails were bad enough. ;)

Jesus. It's that stupid beauty pageant crap. And the retouching on these is particularly extreme. I used to do retouching, the old fashioned way with dyes and a brush, but I was taught to never alter a person. They do look like Barbie dolls, and I think that is the point. It disturbs me also.

Wow, those are realistic looking Barbie-Kelly dolls! :P

Why do people think that's cute? Cute is a little girl with her hair all mussed, covered in dirt, holding a mudpie and grinning to display the gap where her front teeth used to be.

oh my.

I have no problem with encouraging children in their pursuits, if that's what THEY want. But how does a six year old know she wants to do this? All she knows is that it gets her praise.

And it sure doesn't seem like the name "Jon Benet Ramsey" has much meaning for the parents, does it?

However, I've never even MET a pagent parent and I'd sure like to hear from some of them

I thought to myself "this HAS to be a southern thing" and wouldn't ya know: the site's address is in Atlanta, GA. Knew it. That one kid looks only two years old! Southern housewives are just as wacky about beauty contests as they are about cheerleading.
