Spring!

Which means the birdies are here!

This is a female ruby-crowned kinglet (females don't have the red bit on their heads.) I've seen these around before, but always mistook them for sparrows or some sort of weird chickadee. She's been hanging around our back hedge in the last few days, which makes me think she has a nest there.



It's hard to describe how tiny this little thing really is. It actually is slightly smaller than a chickadee. Only smaller birds I've personally seen are hummers.
