Technically, I didn't do all that much today, since I was babysitting the garage, waiting for a few customers. But I did spend enough time powerwashing the driveway in the sun that my arms and much of my face are now about the same shade of angry fuschia as my god-awful rhodies that have just started to bloom. Sunscreen? Me? Yeah, I know. Dumb.

Today's other adventure was nearly getting into an accident when I was driving between the house and the villa. It was such a lovely day that I had my window down. And apparently I also had a sign that said, "Bugs! Come visit!" because THE BIGGEST GODDAMN BUMBLEBEE I'VE EVER SEEN flew in and landed on my chest to say howdy. I pulled over as quickly as I could, squawking the whole time, and pulled a muscle trying to strip off my shirt to get the thing off of me. It was both hilarious and completely fucked up. I know--a bumblebee, right? Big deal, right? BUT PEOPLE! IT WAS THE SIZE OF A FREAKING CHERRY TOMATO. Seriously. The only bigger bug I've ever seen was a cicada (which also made me wet myself when it flew by my nose when I was 11 or so.) Oh, and a couple of stink bugs, but they're ignorable, because THEY DON'T FLY INTO YOUR CAR. And looking back on it, I did have reason to freak, because this was probably a queen, and they DO sting. Hmph.

It took me half an hour to calm down.

Sigh...

Fortunately, the day--and the weekend--were productive on balance. M and [livejournal.com profile] rackham spent much of the day tearing up the two upstairs bathrooms and getting them ready for tile and vinyl.

Thanks to them and some other help this weekend, the house is basically cleared out. Which is good, because the carpet folks are coming tomorrow, as are a charity truck, a Got Junk truck, our yard service people and the people measuring for the vinyl install. Oh, and it's also trash day, and I expect a few folks to come by to buy a few of the larger items we haven't yet gotten rid of.

It's gonna be a loooong day.

Which means it's bedtime!
