Life update and a project help request
Finally taking a breather. This week has been killer. I had two big quizzes yesterday--and I think I hosed both of them, dammit--and I also had to upload the current issue of the SMFH (which still isn't quite done, since the silly designers decided to put all of their images only in .tifs. Grrr.)
Despite doing so poorly in my jazz class, I do like it. It also introduced me to an amazing artist whose work I may have to start collecting: Pianist Art Tatum. Pick a title there that sounds familiar and see what he does with it. It's mind-blowing.
Also, a request for a bit of help/info. I know some of y'all are involved, directly or indirectly, with some progressive religious movements. I'm doing a piece on that for my features class, and if you know of anyone who converted from a conservative to a progressive religion, I'd love to talk to them. I can't interview anyone from my flist directly, but any friend-of-a-friend would work well. Additionally, I'd like to talk to anyone who is still a member of a conservative religion who is working toward policy changes in that religion. Puget Sound local would be best, but I can go farther afield for anyone with a particularly compelling story, or someone who is the leader in some movement or other.
The rest of this weekend will likely be spent playing video games and sleeping. Ahhhhhh. So nice.
