Got back from Vegas last night. It was a nice trip, but tiring, as we walked all over the place. Just walking through Caesar's (including their mall) alone was exhausting. The room we had there was spectacular, though. Well worth the price tag.
We didn't really do all that much except eat really good food and drop some cash in the nickel machines. Not that they take nickels anymore, which is very weird. But the tickets the machines spit out are much nicer than a grubby handful of coins.
We had only one mediocre meal the entire time, and that was off property. The rest of the time we ate at one of the restaurants there or in the mall, and they were all divine. I had a falafel salad for lunch Thursday that was amazing, and polenta for dinner that night. I have relatively pedestrian tastes, and I don't cook as much as I'd like to because of little time and energy, but now and then, I enjoy something elaborate.
We sort of played adults this trip, which was kind of fun. Neither of us wore jeans the entire time we were there. Getting M out of his t-shirt and ratty jeans uniform involved a shopping excursion prior to leaving, but it was worth it. Turns out he cleans up good. ;)
Trying to take the top layer of scum off the house before I head back to B'ham Monday. Not getting very far, I'm afraid, but laundry and dishes are getting done, at least. I'm having my usual pre-term anxiety attacks, especially about being on the paper again, but I suppose I'll get over it.
Still waiting for word on internships. I know I didn't get one of them, but the other is still pending as far as I know, and I know they tend to take a while to process there, so we shall see. Still haven't decided for sure what I'm doing this summer if I don't do that, though. One of my profs is doing a class this summer he recommended I take. Eh. Dunno. I kind of want the time off so I can experiment with some new meds.
None of our shows recorded while we were gone, dammit. So I have to figure out which ones had new epis this week besides Lost.
