I woke up an hour ago and had one of those "whoa" moments where I had to jump out of bed and go look something up.

The net result of this... I think I can get a theater minor. Heh.

Because of the fact that I need three terms on the newspaper and two on the periodical staff, and they both meet at the same time, plus the fact that one cannot take the reporting class at the same time as being on-staff, this means I have a minimum of six terms, plus the term I have to do my internship, before I can finish this degree.

This is all well and good, except for the fact that after this first year (fall-spring) I'll only have three other J. classes (features, advanced reporting and a senior seminar) to complete besides the staff courses. Which means I'd have three, possibly four, counting summer, terms with only two classes each.

Some of that extra time will be filled with psych classes, since I'm doing the minor for that, which needs three classes (cognition, physio and abnormal.) But that still leaves me with wiggle room, especially next summer (I've decided to take classes through the summer, and do my internship at the end.)

Enough wiggle room for the three theater classes I need to complete a minor there. :D

I had actually attempted a double major in music and theater my first go-round (with a psych minor) but as I got sick late in the game, that dwindled down to a theater minor instead, and then eventually the music major faded out, too. So I picked up the music minor on the general ed degree and that was that. But I was still left with an assload of theater and psych credits-- 24 theater and 31 psych. Things being as they are, I have gaps that need filling in both subjects, plus they require a certain number of credits actually at WWU, but in both cases, that should be do-able. The three psych classes are all sophomore-level and the only really challenging one for the theater thing will be directing (the others are play study and one elective--I'm doing play writing.) So long as I can get the classes scheduled properly, I should be able to do this.

I'm not even going to be taking on more than I can handle. When I broke down my last time, part of the problem is that I was taking a zillion classes to stay full-time, since so many of my music classes were low-credit, but full hours (chorus, vocal jazz, voice lesson, etc.) Spring quarter my junior year, I was taking SEVEN classes, plus the required performance attendance thingy. The max I might have to deal with with this is four, but I can probably do three each term.
