Man, I should've kept him on the line.

Telemarketer calls, asks for the "lady" of the house. I tell him I'm probably the closest to that description. He says he's from something called the Dove Foundation, and what he has to tell me is of interest to "parents and grandparents with children under 16." I tell him that doesn't describe me, and hang up.

I go look up the organization? AHAHAHHAHAH. It's one of those "family friendly movie" things. *koff*

How did they decide I'd be a good candidate for their spiel? I really should've kept him going. We could've had a nice little conversation on his dime.

Heh, I had a similar situation a few months ago, Ms.A - when the Canadian Parliament first brought up the gay marriage issue, I had a call from some concerned woman in the States. I don't remember where she said she was from, but she started out by saying something like "I'm very worried about something, do you mind if I share it with you?" To which I replied, "thanks, I'm not interested" and hung up. It wasn't until later that it occurred to me that she was probably calling to try to influence me to contact my MP and urge her to vote against the same sex legislation; at that point, I wished I'd listened for a moment or two, if only to give me an excuse to start a "how DARE you interfere in the politics of another country!" rant...Ah well, a missed opportunity there.
