Me: 33, Mild-mannered (hey!) red-headed tomboy, shopping in local grocery store
Him: 18? 19? cutie cute cute curly-haired bakery employee

Me: (staring at the muffins, I turn as I hear a voice behind me)
Him: (brightly) Good afternoon, ma'am!
Me: (smiling) Hi! you gorgeous thing, you
Him: (overly-cheerful) Anything I can help you with?
Me: (obviously not needing any help) No, thanks unless it involves you getting naked in the stockroom
Him: (starting to head for the counter area, turns and looks over his shoulder at me, grinning madly) If you need me, just ask
Me: Oh, I will (chuckle) need may not be the right word, laddie

*beat*

Me: (strolling past the counter on my way to the produce section, after procuring my 12 grain bread, I glance his direction)
Him: (packing new French loaves into bags, catches my eye)Sure you don't want some? (waves phallic-looking loaf in my direction) Hot and fresh! (teasing tone of voice, flirty half-grin)
Me: (beginning to hyperventilate) yes, you certainly are hot and fresh, dammit Oh, don't I wish... oh fuck I said that out loud! (can't meet his eye, I rush past and feign deep interest in turnips)

Gah.

Heh. I have embarrassing moments of cute boy stupidity almost weekly. Just Saturday I ran into a guy I sorta know (who's even TAKEN) and what was supposed to come out as 'Nice running into you' was more like 'Nice you erm runintoyarghmph'. He was polite enough to pretend I had uttered an English sentence and waved goodbye.
