Sigh...

So, last night I started looking into the project I was working on before all this LOTR stuff started: building a house. And so I browsed through some plans.

And found my dream house

I cannot express how much I want this house, and want it now. Pool and everything (I'm dying for my own private, enclosed pool. I hate going to public pools and fighting for space.) Bedroom #3 would probably be turned into a proper home theater, the family room would become a sitting room, and the living room would be a parlor area with a piano. The "office" downstairs would probably be mine, and would also be a library (note the window seat-- eeee!!) The billiard room would indeed be just that, with the built-in bar, and maybe a couple of pinball machines or classic arcade games. The other two bedrooms upstairs would be Mike's office and a guest room.

I just keep looking at the plans and finding more things I adore about it. A prep sink in the island! A service bar in the pool area! Two bathrooms downstairs (including a full one) and two upstairs! A space for a tub in the master bath that is surrounded by windows! An elevator!!! A laundry sink! Two staircases-- no, three, if you count the balcony. EEE! The balcony!!

It's just--- it's perfect. About the only thing I'd change is merging the two master closets and making a larger shower area, but that's about it. Guh.

Yes, this is a side of me I don't share much. The side with the jones for domestic architecture. :D

You have that problem also, eh? Well, I'll see your Victorian with this: http://www.amazon.com/gp/reader/0670893854/ref=sib_rdr_zmin/102-6004160-2755336?p=S006&j=1#reader-page

If the link does not work it is from a book called "Storybook Style: America's Whimsical Homes of the Twenties". These homes were the perfect combination of fairy tale style combined with thatch Irish/English cottages, Tudor and Cotswold. Of course, a hobbit hole would be good, as would Rivendell. *sigh* So many choices and only one of me.
