I have definitely learned that cats are very intelligent and can do the most incredible things. Looks like you got yourself one smart kitty there.
I'm pretty sure the bed wetting is because he doesn't like to be locked out of the bedroom. Our cats had some behavioral problems when we first started locking them out. They have since gotten over almost all of them, except the body slamming the door at 5 AM on weekends.
