The political issues this year are murky, but I still love the Olympics for the spirit of the event. And the damn cool opening ceremony (hi, the globe thing? Wow.)

But then there's also the annual parade of hotties nations.

In addition to the smoking hotness that is Alexandre Despatie and the softball competitors, I now have a hot Aussie/Maltese swimmer fantasy boyfriend.

Then there was a very cute guy on the Palestinian team and the guy carrying Canada's flag and virtually the entirety of the Indian delegation...

He's our local boy, is Alex - somewhere lying about I have a freebie magazine that featured him on the cover about two years ago, and he's only gotten cuter since then! We're all very proud of his diving, of course, but I think it's the cuteness factor that's gotten him endorsement deals and stuff (I remember a recent McDonald's ad that probably only aired here, in which he was adorable). Go Alex!
