That Bank of America story is pretty rotten, I'd say. I just got my credit card bill from my bank (Bank of Montreal) and find I've been charged interest on the total bill, which also happened last month (for the very first time ever). Reading the fine print on the back of the bill, apparently their policy is that if you miss a deadline one month, then you get charged interest for the next two months, no matter what. Now, I did miss the Dec. 26 due date of a bill, but that's because I didn't get the bill until December 24th and of course the Post Office doesn't work here for several days around Christmas. So I'm feeling a bit miffed about it all at the moment....

As for the Blue Cross debacle, nasty nasty! I always worry about that sort of thing, not for myself obviously, but because of my s-i-l - she has extremely severe rheumatoid arthritis and is dependent on my brother's health insurance for treatment, but until very recently my bro has tended to move from job to job frequently, with concomitant changes in health care. I think he must be able to negotiate that matter, because certainly no health insurance provider would want to pay for S's very costly and ongoing-for-life treatment!
