I'm ripping all my birthday music and wallowing in my fucked up musical tastes.

*mad cackle*

In this assortment:

Foo Fighters
The Bobs
Styx
Pink Floyd (Momentary Lapse)
Tears For Fears
Heart
Thomas Dolby
The Beatles (Abbey Rd)
Phil Collins
Howard Jones (2)
Sarah McLachlan (Touch)
Pink
Collective Soul
Go-Gos (2)
The Cars
Tom Petty
and (don't laugh) Night Ranger

This is just my uncool stuff, though. I do like some cool music, too. Honest. Really. No, really.

nevermind.

I have always been ashamed to admit that A Momentary Lapse of Reason is my second favorite Pink Floyd album. Floyd purists look down their noses at me. Bah. How can you go wrong with a song like "One Slip"?

But...how are the Foo Fighters and the BEATLES uncool? You're so odd MsA. ;)

(My uncool music list includes Journey and Van Halen. I'm going to go hide in the corner now.)

But...how are the Foo Fighters and the BEATLES uncool?

Foo Fighters are on the edge of Corporate Rock. Or at least they're considered so here in Seattle. Of course, we never could get Modest Mouse to catch on, either.

And Abbey Rd. is kind of the "ubiquitous" Beatles Album. Rubber Soul is on my list to buy, though.

You're so odd MsA. ;)

But I'm good at it. :)

(My uncool music list includes Journey and Van Halen. I'm going to go hide in the corner now.)

*joins you, clutching copies of Frontiers and 1984*

We also won't discuss the little matter of my Foreigner and Asia albums and the Ratt and Dokken tapes I can't bring myself to replace on CD.

I listen to Coldplay, Yaz and Nina Gordon, though, which I think gains me many cool points. And I forgot to mention Gene Loves Jezebel in my list above. Now if I could just find the first Other Ones and Game Theory albums on CD....

Corporate shmorporate. If it sounds good, and you like it, then what's the prob?

Of course, that completely negates the ENTIRE CONCEPT of having an uncool musical tastes list...so um... BOO! HISS!! CORPORATE ROCK SUCKS!

I think I just heard Kurt rolling over in his grave. Or his ashes shuffling. Or something.

Dude, you're completely alone with your Foreigner, Asia, Ratt and Dokken stuff. That kinda shame I can't share with you.

I don't think any Beatles can be counted as uncool. All ubiquiety aside. I mean...it's the Beatles, even if they're at their most accesible...bah. I have no argument.

And um, Yaz? Go put that on your uncool list. *grin*

(Says the brat with the John Mayer icon. Shutup. He's cute.)

Not knowing you at all, this of course begs the question, "Which album is your favorite?" ;)

The Wall. Which is highly amusing because my favorite is essentially a musical ode to Roger Waters ego, and my second favorite is the complete absence of the flaming git.

Oh, and having almost all The Bobs albums does rather grant me Cool Points in perpetuity, so there's that... ;)

Is that Tom Petty.... and the heartbreakers, perhaps?

<-- the epitome of uncool.

Eek. I am afraid to examine my uncool musical tastes.

Abbey Road is not an uncool album. Saying "Yellow Submarine" is your favorite Beatles album is uncool.

although that was the first album I ever owned- my uncle bought it for me when I was 8 ehehehe

That should be the name of Dolly Parton's backup band.

I listen to pretty much all of the bands that you have named here. I have neil diamond cd's and I have james taylor cd's as well as Red house painters and pat benatar...the list goes on. I listen to greg brown and really think that bob dylan is rad.
people always tell me I was born in the wrong era.
show me one person that shares my music tastes that are around my age. whatever makes one happy is what counts. oh yeah, I think I even have a "tiffany" album kicking around here somewhere... LOL :P

STYX?????!!!!! Jesus woman, that brings back memories...I must have been the only person in the entire cinema during Goldmember who laughed when Myers did that "Mr Roboto" line.

My dagginess extends to Dolly Parton and Wanda Jackson. I refuse to consider Dusty Springfield, Duran Duran, Laibach, Cold Chisel or Bach daggy.

But you...do I need to send you more cool music? Have you listened to that Powderfinger CD yet? Don't make me come over there... ;)
