*snerk* Some years ago, we at work had to help a coworker redraw the hand-embroidery she was doing on the baby quilt she was making for her son and his wife. Their ultrasound said it was a girl. The baby boy who was born, disagreed.

It was a nice, fairly simple quilt, but she had the baby's name (first and middle) drawn clear across it in flowing script, as the finishing detail. She was about 2/3 of the way across when he was born. I don't recall what the names were, but she was frantically trying to rip out her embroidery without destroying the quilt, as we plotted the best way to draw his name (which was much, much shorter) in place of the multi-syllabic girl's name originally there.

She said they put all the pretty little girl baby clothes away, in hopes of another shot at them later, and just got basic boy stuff. But I can't recall, now, if they did get their chance at using those girl clothes, or not.
