Well, holding my nose, one could compare this to Ray Charles - taking (someone's) sacred music and perverting it for the masses; in Ray's case, into bawdy r&b, in this case, into cheeeeeesy (shudder) disco.
The difference being, of course, that Ray was right to do what he did, whereas the individual who created this will, if righteousness prevails, burn in hell forever and ever and ever.
