On the fringes
Sometimes, I really envy people who are "normal" enough that they have the freedom to try to make friends with just about anyone.
It really sucks to have to constantly screen potential friends to weed out the ones who would probably have an issue with certain aspects of who I am.
If you've never had to be closeted about anything--keeping quiet about those things until you know you can trust someone--count yourself very lucky. That constant feeling of walking on eggshells with every new person you meet is nasty.
