Well, shit

So, with LJ laying off half its staff, that's putting everyone in a panic. And making it hard to do LJArchive backups.

However! Thanks to my packrat tendencies, I have an already-built archive already. Mostly. I've been doing e-mail comments since I started my journals, and I've never deleted any of those. So any entry I got a comment on is already fully archived in Outlook.

Now to just go back and self-comment on a bunch of entries that didn't have comments...

Truthfully, though, I don't think this is the end of LJ. There are too many users here and it's too active to actually be closed. It'll probably just end up being taken over by a smaller company or turned over to user management (!)

I admit that I'm pissed off, though. They dropped tons of cash into trying to make it a MySpace clone. And then when that failed, they tried to make it a Facebook clone. They should've just left it alone to begin with.

Hm.

I've been pissy all day. Like... really, really pissy. There's a whole lot of little annoying stuff that's been building and making me want to go on a killing spree.

I hate days like this. When there's one big thing that goes wrong, fair enough. You have reason to be upset. Or when it's just a couple of minor things in an otherwise-good day, you can live with it. It's being nibbled to death by guppies that drives me up the wall: LJ troubles, my stupid insurance not being sorted out, cramps from hell with bonus anemia, arguing with people about something that shouldn't even be in question, power outages... bleh.

I can deal with annoyances. Just not so many all at once, mkay, universe?
