I'm beginning to think I'm seriously allergic to my cats. Either that or there's some mold problems in the house.
Coming home on weekends, I find myself absolutely exhausted. During the week, at the apartment, I'm more or less fine, except for the stress of classes and such. I don't have that constant groggy, sleepy feeling I do here.
The apt. is the first time I've been away from my kitties for an extended period since getting Kitty Bob 15 years ago. Maybe I've had this problem all this time and never knew it.
I've always had clogged sinuses and the itchy sniffles--particularly bad during sagebrush pollen season and in dusty areas. I also have a really hard time with any smoke. I can't stand to be around smokers because I can't breathe.
I've been on a couple of different spray antihistamines, but they dry me out. Claritin gives me a headache and makes my brain feel bleached. The only thing that takes the edge off is Tavist, but it doesn't work 100%. And I have to take sudafed every day or I can't breathe through my nose at all, which is crucial to being able to use my mask. We have a HEPA filter downstairs but it doesn't catch everything. Four cats leave every available surface covered in hair.
I wonder if it's time to bite the bullet and actually see an allergist. I never have. I just sort of pay attention to what things make me worse. But the stark difference between the apt and the house is making me wonder. If nothing else, maybe they can give me some other pill that works better.
