Just woke up after a bizarre dream/nightmare of epic proporrtions (it involved being in a rustic mountain gambling resort in Texas, someone punching me in the mouth, and naked hottubbing in someone's living room)
I just remembered something I saw yesterday which makes me so damned glad I live in this area. Nice car (convertible A4 - *looks at
mekle) and a couple of nice looking guys in it, at the stoplight at the corner of Broadway and Roy. The car nudges over to the curb, and the guys lean in for a big, happy smooch, and then one gets out of the car and waves back at the other, smiling, and crosses the street as the other watches him. They had similar clothes and style and were an age that looked like they'd been a couple for a while, and it just made me smile. I love living in a city where a male couple can be so casually affectionate with each other in broad daylight. Granted, this was Broadway, and not, say, Lynnwood, but it was cool all the same. I was also reminded of the triad we saw a while back. Man and two women, all very average though slightly alternageek looking, 30ish, arm in arm in arm, walking up Virginia, calmly in rhythm with each other. There are still pockets of problems even here, but I'm spoiled filthy rotten by living in a place which generally accepts love as a good thing, no matter what configuration it comes in.
Back to bed. Three hours of sleep is not good.
