Of course, my feeling about it all is that it went something like this:
Early Christian Leader: "I claim Winter Solstice for Christianity!"
Early Pagans: "You can't claim that! It's our holiday! 500 million of us!"
Early Christian Leader: "Do you have a virgin mother?"
Early Pagans: "We don't need a bloody virgin mother! It's our holiday, you bastards!"
Early Christian Leader: "No virgin mother, no holiday!"
