textualdevianceSo, here I am, back at the Sleazy Bachelor Pad, after a late evening episode of, "Holy fuck, the sky is dumping snow all over Arlington!"
Knowing that I had to leave early anyway, braving the Everett traffic, to get my revision in, this revelation, conveniently delivered in the form of the early news on Fox, rather gobsmacked me. I was packed and in the car in five minutes.
A slightly longer trip than usual, given said sky dumpage for a good 20 miles of the route, but I'm here, which likely wouldn't have happened within any reasonable amount of time at all had I waited for morning.
On the good side, I can work tomorrow morning instead of having to panic. On the bad side, it's one more night without the benefit of a fellow cuddleslut or two (with varying degrees of fur) sharing the bed with me.
I normally wouldn't do such a short turnaround (I drove to Bham Monday morning, then back Monday evening) but I had an appointment today with an allergist--my first with an official dr. of that specialty. Much to my astonishment, they determined I'm not actually allergic to anything. So he sent me home with a steroid spray to deal with nasal inflammation, and said if I'm not better in a few weeks, they'll scan my head to see what up with my screwy sinuses. There was a resident in with the doc, and I nearly had an asthma attack right there just because he was so freaking cute. I hate cute doctors. I get all embarassed and stupid when they're poking me and asking invasive questions.
The other weird thing is that my BP was up really high. I'm normally about 135/90, a tad high, but not major cause for concern. Today, even with the large cuff, I was 148/90. The only thing I can think is that my stress levels have really sent me wonky. Hopefully at the next check, it'll be down again. I really don't need that one more thing added on to all the other damned problems I have. Although apparently not allergies. Sheesh.
