1. What was your first car?
I learned to drive mostly on my dad's truck, and had an inhumanly deep attachment to a Triumph we had, but when I really started driving, I was stuck with the family nerdmobile, a 77 Dodge Aspen station wagon.

2. What was the name of your first pet and why?
I'm trying to remember timelines-- I don't remember if it was the hamster--Whiskers, or the cat--Squeak. The names are obvious, I suppose.

3. What did you want to be when you grew up?
An actress. That's me. Drama queen since birth.

4. What was the name of your elementary school?
Lemmon Valley Elementary.

5. Who was your first best friend?
Oi. Tina something or other, I think. She was a year older than me.

6. Are you still friends today, and if not, what happened?
Gads, no. I don't remember what happened, but I think it was traumatic.

7. What was your favorite board game?
We played a lot of different stuff I enjoyed--Scrabble, Aggravation, Payday, Clue, Monopoly, Yahtzee and some weird little puzzle thing with a rotating mechanical thingy in the middle.

8. Did you play house or other make believe games?
From time to time, yes. When I was a little older, I used to run around in the desert and pretend I was adventuring.

9. Were you a Dungeons and Dragons geek?
No, but only because I didn't know the boys who played it well enough to join. I totally coveted those geek boys' lifestyle back then. I wanted the Star Wars action figures and the He man playsets and all the other cool stuff they played with.

10. Did you sleep with stuffed animals as a kid?
about 8 thousand of them

11. Do you still sleep with stuffed animals?
If Mike is particularly full, yes. ;)

12. Who was the first person you looked up to when you were younger?
My dad, probably.

13. Who was your favorite relative?
My aunt Betty. She was always so sunny and sweet. Still is, actually. Pity about the heavy religious thing.

14. Were you short or tall in elementary school?
Tall until about 3rd grade, and then I just sort of stopped growing. I didn't grow at all after about 14. Probably a combination of my weird hormonal condition and my parents' smoking all the time. My mom is short, but my body type is more like my dad's side of the family, and virtually all the women there are at least 5'6" or so. So I think something went wrong for me.

15. Were you teased in school?
Constantly. I was fat, weird, smart and had a mouth. I was forever getting the crap beaten out of me. It was kind of a school sport.

16. What was the name of your favorite teacher?
Mrs. Grimes. 5th grade. She had Disco fridays and yoga on Mondays.

17. What was the name of your least favorite teacher?
Mr. Brewer. What a dick. He later got fired for throwing a chair at a student, or so I heard.

18. What was your best subject in school?
Anything involving words.

19. What was your worst subject in school?
Anything involving numbers.

20. Did you do well in Physical Education?
I dropped out of it in 7th grade due to bad knees. I was fairly athletic as a little kid, but when I started hitting puberty, my joints couldn't handle the weird growth patterns and I started injuring myself easily.

21. Were you clumsy when you were younger?
Quite. Still am.

22. Who was your favorite band as a kid?
Abba

23. What was your favorite movie as a kid?
There were a lot. I remember enjoying Star Wars and the Muppet Movie.

24. Did your parents read to you?
Yes. Until I started doing it for myself around age 3. I also had a really cool little book and plastic record thingy, where I could read along with what the record said.

25. Did you have a favorite book?
I devoured the Hardy Boys books and the Little House on the Prairie books. I guess TV was good inspiration for something.

26. What was your favorite restaurant as a kid?
Whatever that enormous buffet at the Nugget was. We didn't go there often, but man, that thing was huge. I also liked the General Store there. I don't know if it even exists anymore, but it had this really cool early 20th century atmosphere, and a weird interconnected ceiling fan system. They also had strange and wonderful food, like Monte Cristo sandwiches.

27. What TV or movie star did you have a crush on?
Who DIDN'T I have a crush on. My room was always plastered with posters. I think my earliest crush was Barry Gibb. Then the Dukes. Shaun Cassidy. Daryl Hall. Martha Quinn...I could list dozens.

28. Do you now wonder what you were thinking?
Good heavens. It was the 70's. I wonder what EVERYONE was thinking. Honestly, Harvest Gold? Macrame? Disco?

29. Who was your first crush in school?
Jory Martin in 1st grade. Cute little redheaded kid.

30. As a child, what kind of car did you want when you grew up?
Something small, cute and fast. Either that or a disco tricked out van conversion with a waterbed and shag carpeting on the walls.

31. Did your parents spank you?
Yup. It didn't work, though. All it did was made me scared of them. I wasn't doing the right thing because it was the right thing, but only out of fear. And it just made me do the wrong stuff more secretively, so they wouldn't find out.

32. Did your parents fight a lot when you were a kid?
Yeah. They have a rather volatile relationship. Lots of love, but lots of conflict, too. They're both very hot-headed.

33. Did your parents get divorced or stay married?
As of next year, they'll be celebrating their 40th.

34. If they got divorced, how old were you when it happened?
n/a

35. Did you ever run away from home?
Tried to a few times.

36. How old were you when/if you first got glasses?
16. I couldn't read road signs at night, so I needed them to drive.

37. Did you need braces or a retainer?
Nope. I have a gap that could be corrected, but it's not a big deal.

38. If you're male, how old were you when you had your first wet dream?
Well, I never had specifically wet dreams, but I did have several erotic ones quite early on. Eight, maybe.

39. Both sexes when did you start shaving?
11? 12? Something like that.

40. Girls when did you start wearing a bra?
4th grade. I got accused of stuffing. I drug a bunch of people into the bathroom and proved I wasn't, thereby cementing my legendary status as the weird girl.

41. What was your first kiss like?
I honestly don't remember. How sad is that? I remember making out with my best friend's brother when I was 11 (in a sleeping bag in their backyard, with Journey playing in the background. How cheesy, eh?) but I know it wasn't my first time. It probably happened when I was really little.

42. What did you do on your first date?
Joey Brown and I went roller skating.

43. How old were you when you first drank?
My mother was kind enough to supply me with the occasional bit of booze when I was a teen.

44. Where was your first house?
Reno. 611 E. 2nd St. I think.
