Being a Weelander myself, I understand the trouble with tall cabinets. I can't reach any of our tupperware, wine glasses, and much of the food without aid. I find that a cheapass ikea footstool goes a long way towards helping with that. They're quite sturdy, and you can get another foot out of them if you need to. It might be better than leaving your food to eat your counterspace.
