What a wild day. And a long one. Not having enough sleep last night meant I've had to suck on a few of these to keep me going. Which is a bad thing, especially when I'm riding the cotton pony. I'll regret it later when every muscle in my body feels like it's been soaked in acid, I'm sure, but I had to get through it.
First up was forgetting to bring my AP style guide with me to my editing class, but still getting all but 1/2 of one answer right on a little practice quiz. Go me. :) Then there was being incensed and happy at the same time about my story. Front page, yay, unfortunate editing, boo.
Then I had to spend my lunch hour riding the shuttle back to my car, not being able to park where I wanted to do an errand and so having to postpone it until much later, and then finally getting the shuttle back after re-parking.
Law class was fun, but I need to stop talking. I'm going to turn into Annoying Tom if I'm not careful. But I guess I can't help that there's only about half a dozen people out of a class of ~30 who interact with the prof. And if I'm talking, at least I'm preventing Annoying Tom from going of on one of his rantgents. Yes, that's a word. Shuddup.
Then I frazzled myself getting my beat report done, since it was late. Only to find out that none of the other beat reports had been read yet. And then, after I left, realizing I forgot to put a date on one of my items, so there goes most of my points for it. Sigh...
After a brief lunch at the bachelor pad, I headed back to campus for a meeting of a new diversity group for the J. dept. On the way down to my car, I ran into one of my neighbors, who saw my car and asked if I thought he could be relatively out around here. I told him people were more likely to have a problem with his California license plate.
The meeting was interesting. We all got to talk about our individual Diversity Qualification Points. I gave them my whole laundry list, which was interesting. There's one gay guy in the group, and everyone else is straight, so I get to play token everything else. Should be interesting to see how this goes. Western isn't a terribly diverse campus, actually. There are probably more queer kids than people of color. And the J. dept. itself is very white and very straight. So I kind of want to see where this goes. It makes me feel more comfortable, at least.
Now I'm just watching House and eating dinner before writing up an opinion piece about those guys who got arrested for illegal castrations. :D Then bed. Tomorrow is a big day--covering the rally I did the preview piece for, and then a 24 hour turnaround to get it into Friday's paper. Gah.
