Tidying up
Just went back and locked several things to my personal filter. Most of them were already friends-only, but I want to get in the (better) habit of further filtering the really boring/pathetic core dump stuff I do all the time here to only the people who want to be subjected to it (and who, theoretically, understand that said core dumping does not constitute the majority of my personality; just the majority of my posts on this journal, apparently.)

Pruning
Doing some Monkeysphere pruning of my flist, here and on FB.
Nothing personal to anyone who gets pruned, and you're welcome to keep me friended if you still want to read my public posts. I'm just cutting down to the people with whom I directly interact most often, or whose journals I otherwise keep up with the most. I'm feeling a little bit spread too thin, and I want to be able to concentrate more closely on a smaller number of people.

Just a quick note
Out of respect for those who have already made up their minds and/or who get headaches thinking about politics too much, I'm going to dial back the generic political stuff here and keep it over at uppityliberal.
I'll still be using this journal to talk about political and social issues as they relate to me personally, though chances are pretty good that most of that stuff will be on the personal and spawning filters. Politics/social issues that relate to fandom will still be onfanbitch.

Flistkeeping
Doing a bit of flistish maintenance and looking at the list of folks who have me friended whom I do not also have friended. I recognize some of the names, and suspect I don't have them friended for a reason (wanker-connected folks, people who pissed me off at one point or dead journals) but I also see a lot of names I don't recognize.
So, time for all y'all lurkers to come out and say howdy, and tell me who ya are and why/when you friended me, and perhaps some indication of whether I should friend you, should you so desire. I flock a whole shitload of stuff these days (largely because my Facebook account has feeds of this thing's public entries, and I have co-workers and relatives on that account) so if you're not friended, you're missing out.
Also, if you'd like to be friended, indicate whether you want to also be on my spawning and/or personal filters.
