M'aidez, s'il vous plait...

Well, the feature project I'm supposed to be working on for my newswriting final isn't coming together like it should, because the people I need to talk to are apparently chronically incapable of returning messages.

So, my flist to the rescue, I hope.

The backup project I have in mind is to cover Serenity/Firefly fandom. Yes, in a "who are these freaks?" way. ;P

No, seriously, even though I'm not into it myself, I think it'd be a fun article to do.

So where y'all can help me is that I need people to talk to.

The requirements of the people in question:

1. I need a minimum three people, preferably a few more.
2. They need to be fairly knowledgeable about their fandom and about history and details of their object of obsession interest.
3. At least one has to be Seattle-area-local, because I need an in-person interview (more would be great)
4. The people in question would need to be available for interviews next week, while I'm home on break, since my first draft is due a week from tomorrow.
5. I can't interview any friends or family. Friend-of-a is fine. So if you can point me to someone I don't know who fits the above criteria, that would be splendid.

Merci in advance, mes cheres.

Awww, are we friends? Haahaha. I know we're got each other friended but does that make us friends? Ahahaha, if so then you can't interview me but if not then I'd be happy to submit to being interviewed.

You might post on [livejournal.com profile] _the_firefly_ asking for help about this. You'll probably get your post recced on [livejournal.com profile] the_cortex and chances are you'll reach a few Seattle based people that way.

Thanks for the recommendation. Will post over there about that.

And yes, you'd be a good subject. I cleared acquaintances with my prof. Basically anyone I've met in person or "known" for a long time I can't do (bias issues) but anyone else is fair game.

I'll ping you in a couple days for that. Thankee!

Sounds great, will look forward to the pinging. Good luck with the rest of it. :)

Depending upon where you draw the friend vs. casual acquaintance line, I'd be an excellent interview subject, and I'm available all day everyday (monday and tuesday evenings are busy). I'm a fan from the DVD release, brought over from Buffy fandom, and we were the second group in line for the second preview screening in Seattle. I dressed up as River. I had some problems with the movie though.

Also, you might consider hitting the Browncoats website and posting on the Seattle Shindigs thread asking for interviewees. They're pretty active, and have been for upwards of a year, so they would be excellent bets.
