And so ends an era

I guess even the blurb in the SGN didn't do the trick.

I knew this was coming--overdue, perhaps--but I'm still bummed.

Thanks to everyone who hung in as long as you did. I think the chorus did amazing things over its lifespan, and any time we spent there was definitely time well spent.

The chorus I spent several years in finally folded last night, due to waning funds and membership. It had been going continuously since 1990, but it just faded over the last few years.

That is wrong in so many ways. Wow. Most of my current life, friends, paths I have chosen all connect to SLGC in one way or another. Definitely the end of an era.

Wow.

I'm definitely sad. I hung in for 15 years, but just couldn't do it any longer at my end 2 yrs ago.

I'm glad so many people got so much out of it.

Thing is, out of ends come new beginnings, so even though SLGC will be no more, other things will come up. But that doesn't help with the pain of parting right now, I know.

Yeah, depending on how our spawning efforts go, I've been considering assembling a bunch of folks to do a semi-cabaret thingy some summer: Staged scenes from operas, musicals, etc. I'd have to track down an accompanist and a space, but I think it'd be fun.
