Ahhhh

I took the plunge and dropped a chunk at Silver Platters yesterday.

Among my purchases* I finally replaced most of my ABBA vinyl. I'd had the ABBA Gold compilation for a while, but I missed some of the songs that weren't on that. Including this one, which I totally forgot about, and absolutely adore, just because it's so incredibly funky.

Over in the corner, I could see this other guy
He was kinda flirty, he was giving me the eye.
So, I took advantage of the fact that I'm a star--
shook my hair and took a casual stroll up to the bar.

Cheesy, but in a great way.

I forgot how into them I was when I was a kid. It's amusing, really, that my interest in pop music started in that era. I got the jones for such a wide range of stuff because there was that dramatic shift from folk and other acoustic stuff over to disco. So I was listening to The Carpenters and Simon and Garfunkel, and then this and the Bee Gees. No wonder I'm so warped. :D

ABBA:
Super Trouper
Arrival
Voulez-vous
The Visitors
The Album

KT Tunstall

The Grey's Anatomy sountrack

And a bunch of hits collections:
Adam Ant
Cocteau Twins
Gary Numan
Alan Parsons Project
Style Council
Stevie Wonder

And this spiffy thing called Pure Funk which has some awesome stuff--Brick House, Jungle Boogie, Kung Fu Fighting, Car Wash, etc.

On and on and on is great, really one of their better songs in my opinion....if you ever saw the video, there is an extra line that isn't in the main track.
