You know, it amazes me that in the ongoing debates about gay marriage, etc. one simple principle seems to be overlooked:

Religious law cannot be made into civil law

I'm not sure why we even bother arguing anything else. The simple fact is that nearly all anti-gay rhetoric is based in religious law. No-one can prove that there are any real non-religious reasons to deny people the right to love and be as they are.

Actually a very good comment. I wonder why it hasn't been brought up before? Or ever for that matter. Seems like OUR side would have brought it up over and over again if that is the law!

I've been wondering about the same thing! It's the same with abortion, and that is allowed in many countries where gay marriage isn't allowed.
