Flooding update

Reiterating that we're safe, but some stuff from nearby, for the interest of non-locals:

Also, I-5 is closed for a 20-mile stretch around Centralia. That closure is expected to last for at least a couple more days.

The rain is still coming down--two more days' worth, according to forecasts.

Drying out

Looks like the rain let up early, so things are getting back to normal. We actually took our usual route home today, though we did spend about 10 hours on campus today, since I had a lot of work to catch up on from yesterday's short day. I like that I'm getting more responsibility, but I need to figure out some better time management to get it all done.

We've been watching Tin Man, and two nights in, I'm still not sure what I think of it. It finally started making sense toward the end of installment 2, but... I will say that the concept and art direction are pretty darn cool. And Alan Cumming is fabulous no matter what. But Zoe Deschanel just... I dunno. She seems weird in this. Once I got past the no, this has nothing whatsoever to do with the books or first movie thing, I got into the universe and plot, but the acting and directing are just strange. I can't quite settle into it for that reason. I'll finish it off, of course, but I'm kind of disappointed because it seems like a great concept with poor execution.

Thanks to our cable being out, we missed Heroes on Monday. Trying to decide whether we watch it on NBC.com or not (since that's bad strike juju.)
